We celebrated Maya’s third birthday last week, and today it is Olivia’s special day. Our oldest daughter is turning FIVE!
It truly makes my head spin when I think back to first getting to hold Olivia, my first born, looking into my daughter’s infant eyes, and just how much she has grown since then. It is fair to say that Olivia has a very special and mature character. Ever since she was little she showed incredible patience (a book or puzzle would hold her attention for hours), precision (she enjoyed lining toys up by collection) and intelligence (she is very perceptive and inquisitive). Olivia is a thinker; a serious child with a curiosity for life. Hands down, she is also the artist in the family; her drawing skills can put both my wife and I to shame. It is incredible to look at Olivia today, and see how far she has come in just five years. I can only imagine what wonders await her in the future, and how she will continue to amaze those around her. Olivia, you are the one who first made me a “father”; I wanted to show you the world and teach you all I know, yet even today, I am learning that it is already you who is teaching me and showing me the wonders of life!
